Yeah, we used 3 trimmers and 3 guys. Now I'm in the market for a pole hedge trimmer. Which kinda sucks cause none of my string trimmers are split shaft so I need the whole unit.

I have the Stihl FS90R string trimmer and a hedge trimmer attachment for it, which is great for a lot of jobs, but sometimes the overall length is overkill.

I have a pretty decent Craftsman hand held for the tight spots, but next year I want to pick up a commercial trimmer to replace it.

Did you base your bid on a linear foot measurement of the shrubs or did you eyeball it?

I would be interested in how you priced it also.
They look like privet hedges. Privet hedges can be severely trimmed with no dire consequences. You would need to warn the owner of this though because they will look sad for about a year. But they will fill out and be at a more manageable height when you are through. You could literally take them down to 4-5 feet and when they fill out you would not know that they were as high as 8 feet.
I noticed that there are also some weed trees in the hedge also. What did you do about them. If you did not trim them to the ground and carefully just spray the stump with a woody brush killer then you will have a major problem later. You can use a very small amount of weed killer using this method and not get in trouble for not having a chemical license.

I normally bid hedges by linear foot but the price wouldve been ridiculous. So I estimated the hours and bid it that way. I was actually spot on with the estimate. I thought it would take 12 hours and it did.

I have to cut these again at the end of the season. I will take them down halfway at this point.
