Default Gas storage/transport

As most people do, I carry several plastic gas cans on the truck to keep the mowers and line trimmers going.
Besides having gas cans that heat up and swell, they have to be kept locked up keeping them from others who have no problem taking them off my hands, so, I thought I would put this out for others to comment on,
I know there has to be a better and safer way to carry fuel in the line of business,
I have thought of an auxiliary fuel tank
(like the RVer's and farmers use in the back of the truck)
What's your preferred way of carrying extra fuel?

Lawn care business tips
Someone just stole my 5 gallon can that was half full.

Theres a gas can rack that locks up. Not sure what to do about the swelling.

The problem I see with this is that it can still swell and with it being locked and confined there could be the chance for it to explode or burst. I am looking into gettin a fuel transfer tank to keep in my truck

what about a bike lock? like a rope that locks together? you could string it through the handles of the cans and to the side rail of the trailer.

I bought 3 x 5 gallon metal safety cans from lowes. I keep them in a locked tool box and I don't have any problems with fumes because they have a pretty good spring to keep the lid closed on the cans. I find that the aluminum tool box keeps the cans much cooler so there's no swelling.

since the cans keep it cooler, that means less lost to evaporation, meaning you may save money in the long run....I'll have to get one of those
