Default Door Hangers

I know that many people say door hangers don't have a good response rate, but I found a printer that will print 2 sided full color for $330 for 5000 of these. At this price, I think I will try them. I have designed a hanger in publisher. Before I send to print, I wanted some advice. I want the hanger to be professional, so I went kind of minimalist but still eye catching.

What do you think?

I use Avery #16150 hangers. They have two detachable cards you can print at the bottom, that way the customer has two of your cards

I think they look great. The only suggestion I would have is to put your phone number and website on both pages to make it easy for your potential customers to call you.

Just found something that I think is better. I can order rack cards from vistaprint that are the same size, but don't have the hole cut in it, so I can put more information/pictures on it, and then uline.com sells a plastic bag the rack card will fit into that has a door knob hole cut in it. It is actually cheaper and I get more info on cards. The only thing is that I will have to stuff 5000 cards into bags.

I have used uline's door hanger bags because they are cheap. I only do 500 at a time. The bags serve me well. I stuff with a magnet street sports schedule and a letter. This year I will be doing that and pens. I hand deliver all myself. They return is not great but I have gained some business. This year I am going to start earlier like early March. Typically in IL season starts April 1st.

As you have done this in the past, have you found that altering any element of your marketing actually improved response?

Are you tracking when people call you, where they initially heard of you from?

I received about 20 calls last season. I gained 2 weekly customers, 3 as needed and three mulch jobs. The sport schedules cost me $187. The bags are $27 for 1000. I print my own letters. I have budgeted $200 for pens s year.

I am currently working on a website. I will include website on all material.

I am also having lawn signs made up. I will ask my customers if i can place in yards. I am offering one free mowing for every full season commitment customer sign up.

As part of my branding, I am including a QR code.

That is my marketing plan for 2014. The goal is to have 50 weekly customers. Maybe I can finally buy that zero turn this year.

I wonder what would help you more. The sports schedules or maybe an envelope of grass seed that you could include in your bag that the customer could sprinkle on their lawn's dead spots?
