anyone have a 19 kaw motor on there mower ? why i ask is at my regular job we have 2 48 in exmark hydro walk behinds the newer one has a 20 hp kaw and the older one has a 19 hp kaw motor the older mower with the kaw 19 hp is quite faster than the newer 20 hp kaw mower but the 20 hp seems to have more torque on hills and steep ditches... the question is what motor do you have and what do you think about it ..19 hp over 20 hp... ?

speed has more to do with the hydro pumps and wheel motors then the engine. Torque is all engine.

I was told that with the way they rate the engines some 19s are the same as the 20 depending on when it was made/rated. I dunno.

Either way, I can't see how one hp would make that much of a difference.

you really do not have a good standard for rating small engines on Horsepower so for the most part they just pick a number. That is why they got sued a few years ago and why you will starting seeing torq as a rating for engines. That or cc size. As for speed that is hydro units not engine as well.

yes thats correct there is a diffrence in 19 to 20 hp motors 1 hp...just kidding ...
