What are your "hours"?

Sometimes I sleep in a little... Wake up, hook the trailer up and load it... Go to McDonalds for breakfast... Procrastinate a lot... etc. Each day takes about 6 1/2 hours "8am - 2:30pm". No rush, relax, get the work done and go have a beer or 12 with your workers. I am so drunk right now, and I am writing this like a champ! I can wake up at anytime, so long as the job(s) get done before 5-6pm, I'll be happy.

I forget what the start time around here is - I want to say 8am is OK, but not certain.

The noise laws around here are 7 a.m. sometimes I am a rebel and start a 6:55 a.m. I work on Saturdays and Sundays as well

To answer the original question, on busy days I work till I can hardly walk. Other days just work till done.

when i started i was getting up late started around 11am finish around 4-5pm then i got more accounts so i started at 8am finished around 6-7pm during summer and around 5-6 during winter then i got workers and i get up again late... but they still start around 8am and are done around 4-5pm they dont get overtime so they are pretty good about the timing and clients are good to let me know if they have done half *** job when i visit them, at least once every 2 weeks.

I used to be lazy and start around 11 or 12, but then I got so busy that I couldn't do that anymore. My problem is I'm a night owl and it's very difficult to get to bed before 2am. I like to have "my time" and I usually take a nap after supper till about 8 or 9pm. That's a lot of the reason I stay up late...I know, I know. But to chime in on some of you guys' posts...I most times start at 8am and finish around 2 or 3. It used to bother me this year, but the way I see it, you can't do too many lawns in one day just because you have extra time because if you do, the next week you may be behind and now you have that many more lawns to do on that day. Spend the extra time on maintenance, go drop off some flyers to local businesses, or just be like me and say f***k it and come home and be a fat lazy slob. It rained all weekend here, so it was too wet to mow today. So....last week I bought a 99 Dodge Dakota from one of my customers for $800...brought it home, threw some new plugs and wires on her, buffed and waxed her, and sold it on Craigslist for $1,800. So I spent today in Columbia (about 70 miles south of here) delivering it to them. Made an extra $100 on delivery fee and took my poor-money-managing butt to Bass Pro Shops and dropped $700 on a new crossbow and accessories. Then on the way back I stopped at Menards and picked up some flagstone for a customer's landscaping job. I need to find me a good woman who can manage money and keep me in line. God I love being single! Oh well, money's meant to be spent, not saved..back to work tomorrow to make some more!!

I used to be in a business that started at 9, and where working on things or researching could go on until 1 or 2 in the morning.

Now with a one year old son and a growing business, being awake, alert and refreshed to do the work of a lawn and garden contractor has taken priority. No more late nights for me, sadly.

If there is enough light to work, then it's time to work.

We also have the 07:00 to 19:00 noise regulation, or something like that, down here in Australia. Indoor machinery can operate until later, but that's not much use to we guys who need daylight to do our work outdoors. Most contractors around here start at about 08:00 and go until there is not enough light.
