not a single phone call WTF?

I haven't gotten a single call yet and don't understand why? Websites up in phone book. On multiple business listings. Beeen going door to door talking to people and putting flyers out. What am I missing? Is anyone else having trouble getting clients?

Is anyone else having trouble getting clients? its still early yet ,I have found in the spring people like doing there own yards the first couple times until it becomes PITA then the phone rings. Just hang in there once you get the first one the rest are all easy

i sent out introduction letters out for my business feb 14th and feb 21st

cost me about 50 cents a letter sent out about 350 with 80ish returned

took about 2 weeks to get the calls in. but i have had 4 calls so far, with well over $1,500 in work and 2 for lawn care. my previous employer has loaded me with jobs because he wants to focus on bigger stuff. which has been great but i am literally swamped now. I have 11 jobs/estimates/potential jobs (customers who want work done) as of right now... its a lot to juggle with a full time college schedule too...

so what im saying is try some introduction letters, i drove by and wrote down addresses of houses id want to market to. best part about this is that you choose your clients and they don't choose you.

Why did they get returned? wrong name? Did you put their name or "our neighbor" "resident"

Last spring I had my Craigslist ad running for about 3 weeks before a call came in. Then it was non-stop.

Try the newspaper. I buy a add at the beginning of every season and get 15-25 calls during the week.

Make sure it's a local paper for the area you're targeting. I made the mistake of advertising in a multi-county classified paper. I got a total of 2 calls in the 1 month run from mid-April to mid-May, both from more than 60 miles away. It seems that it didn't matter that I included the areas that I service. Waste of money for me.

I'm in central illinois. I know there is a ton off competetion that I am up against. But to not have 1 call by now is very alarming. Did try something new today though. When going door to door I take my measuring wheel, estimate, sheets, and flyers with me. Pitch I was just giving an estimate for one of neighbors and decide to go to everyone on the block. Short and sweet and depending on there response I have found easy to get conversating with me. No jobs from it yet. However everyone that I spoke to seemed much more responsive to me than normal. Thanks for all the encoragment.
