Bidding on an Apartment Complex

Hey, I'm new to the business, and I got a call from a large apartment community who wants me to put a bid in...I have one large account through a friend and have not had to put in a proposal yet...I figure with my equipment, myself and one other guy it may take a while to do. What is the first step to make. I've tried to add an overhead picture in with the outline of the property so that anyone can get a good look at what we're bidding on. The majority of the flower beds are gravel, but they need some TLC, and the grassy areas are pretty large. The bid would include edging, weeding, mowing, blowing the parking lot down, and minor trimming of small bushes. Any information would be great. Lawn care business tips

Hi, The area just looks green. You can't see anything through the solid green. Can you show it maybe without the solid green or maybe even with google maps and take a screen cap? Also, break down the services you plan to provide and tell us how long you are estimating each will take you.

Ah...You really have no information for anyone to make a guess.

You need to go take a look at the place...walk around, get a feel for it. Measure it out for crying out loud. Take some pictures.

Make sure you know what the property manager wants. You might think they only want basic mowing, but they will want weed control too. Walking around with a sprayer takes time.

They might also want you to take care of the irrigation (sprinkler) system. If one breaks, they may call you. Also, you have to winterize those things.

Some apartments also want annual flowers around the place, especially around the main office and the main sign near the street. That takes time to buy, and plant, and then remove when those die, and then put new ones in.
