OK I am not going to get into names and alike but this story just baffles my mind.
This is a big national lawn care company franchise.
This guy come in to the CEO chair once his father decides to step down after running the company very successfully for 20 years. Multimillion dollar operation.

Year one he forces out the other partner that has been there since day one.

Year #2 he lets the warehouse, equipment, technician manager go. This guy has been there for 16 years.

Then this winter he called all the lawn techs and told them there is no jobs for them this year that they are going in a new direction and are going to hirer all new guys. Some of these guy have been there going on 8 years.

He let all the sales people go and is advertizing for new people.

He has also changed out all the office staff.

Now here is the kicker. This your going to love .
The new Warehouse Manager is his Brother-in law.
The new Sales Manager is his best friend from High School.
The new Office Manager is his Sister-in law.
The Accountant is an old friend he grew up with.
None of them have ever worked in the industry.

Now dose this sound like a success story or what ?????

Lawn care business tips
The guy sounds like a child looking for fun.

Maybe he believes he can do 'better'. We'll see what happens!

Oh and... I just ate 10 pounds of candy. Doesn't feel too good.

to me,it does sound like a success story ,the former employees will probably start their own company and be just fine ,while the old company will successfully close its doors in short order .

Well I can give you this info
I left in 2010 and opened my own company
1 tech has gone into selling Life insurance and making good money.
1 is going to be working for their competitor.
2 have left town to work out west
1 guy is now working at a local restaurant in the kitchen.
1 has gone back to school to get a trade
the warehouse manager is going to open his own business.
and all the office girls except for my wife have gotten other jobs.

I was talking to someone that is still there that I know and I guess spring renewals just isn't happening and he has no sales people to help get people back.

Sounds like a perfect opportunity to solicit to his customers if you know who they are. He may be out of business before too long.

that is how business works, you have a guy at the top that does not know what they are doing incompetence will work its way to the bottom.

If you are in competition with them, you should be happy this is going on. As the old saying goes 'Shirt sleeves to shirt sleeves in three generations.'

Jr. is now in the process of screwing things up. It's classic. And by the third generation, it will be back to square one.

I'd say watch them, it will be a great learning experience of what not to do.
