Default Lawn Swag - Ask and Ye Shall Receive

Last year I picked up my Toro during an open house at my local dealer.
Everyone who came got a bag filled with assorted promotional items from various manufacturers. In it was a cheapo ball cap from Toro which happened to fit me very well. I later contacted Toro to ask if I could purchase another like it (hard time finding hats that fit), and their response was that they would be happy to send me a few at no charge. Cool.
The ones they sent were different (and of much better quality), but they did fit.

I wore one of them to the point where it changed colors from the sweat (eewww!!!) and sunlight. I kept the other handy for going to give estimates so I wouldn't look like a slob.
Now I was down to one hat the "dirty" one is about to hit the trash can - what to do - what to do?

I recently sent emails to Toro, Stihl, and Echo, politely inquiring about the possibility of acquiring a promotional item such as a hat or T-shirt.
I won't post word for word what I sent, but I explained that I was pleased with their equipment, looking into the purchase of more of their equipment, and that I'd be happy to promote their product.

All three answered promptly.
Today a package arrived from Toro with 2 hats - same as last year, but in "grey" (I think) instead of deep brown like last year.
The guy at Stihl sent me a pdf with all their hats and told me to choose the hat I wanted. I expected to get whatever they sent - thought that was nice of them to give me a choice. It should arrive tomorrow.
Echo said they would be sending "promotional items". I guess I'll see what I get when it arrives.

I'll post pics of my lawn swag and U bitchez will B H8tin!

Lawn care business tips
the only thing I have ever gotten as a free "promotional" product was from exmark. It was like 30 stickers, all being different sizes and logos they have. I thought it was pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they sent you!

How did you go about in contacting them? Like through a link on their websites?

Yes. I just looked for the "contact us" link.

I tried to do the same with Husqvarna, but apparently they don't want to communicate with anyone, as all links led to a "contact your local dealer" page.

I just contacted a bunch of dealers and just heard back from Echo and they will be sending me something (not sure yet, but excited). But this is what SCAG said when I contacted them "Thank you for contacting Scag. We appreciate your interest in and support of Scag products. To purchase Scag merchandise, please visit the Scag Wearables page of our website: http://www.scag.com/wearables.html - Thank you"

Thought that was funny

Stihl emailed me back saying visit a dealer to purchase merchandise. When I did visit dealers last year I spend $1400 on equipment. Now I'm suppose to pony up $20 for a hat to promote you? no thanks, I can buy a hat with my logo for cheaper.

I totally agree with you but I am still going to buy their product because (in my opinion) they make the best commercial lawn mowers. It sucks though because I bet if they knew that I have three of their mowers they would have immediately gave me promotional product. But its their loss
