So I have been coming up with ways to rank my website and one thing I keep reading is about how you need to be linked all over the place. So along with every place I can find to post it ( http://willslawns.com/ ) I made a blog to use as a link. Don't know if it helps but here http://brocktonlawns.wordpress.com/about/ you can post your info under "Leave a Reply" I know very little about the net but maybe if we setup a few sites like this it will help? let me know what you think

How important is it to have your website address listed in different locations vs having keywords link to your website?

From what I have read (in the last two weeks) it is just as important to be linked as keywords and meta text is falling to the wayside. And what the business that charge like $99 a year to rase you rank, post you info on many of there websites and sites like yp.com

So then how do you focus on certain keywords or phrases people maybe searching for?

For instance, say your lawn care company is located in Happyville and you want to really target those searching for Happyville Lawn Care, how will your url help more so then a link coming from the phrase Happyville Lawn Care?

please keep in mind I'm just looking this up the past two weeks and dont know alot!!!

but from what I am reading, site description is very BIG for all search engines but google does not really value meta tags. here is one of the videos that talks about it

I dont like down loading thing for websites i don't know. I will look around for a site that is free and no download. I will let you know

I'll give you all a word of advise though... Rather than trying to get a truckload of backlinks of low quality, try and get a few from higher authority websites.

Your rankings will increase dramatically with little work.

That is very interesting! What's your view on how to go about finding which are the better sites to get backlinks from? How does one determine if a website is of higher authority than another?
