Very nice job in measuring out the estimate area.

How many sq ft do you think the job will be in total? What size mower will you be using and how long are you estimating it will take you per cut?

Bed weeding when needed
How often do you estimate you will need to do this and how much time are you thinking it will take on average per week?

70000 sq ft, with a 42" mower, i think it can be mowed in 1 1/2 hrs

I guess once a month probably will do it, but my guy likes to pull them or wack em with the weed whacker as he goes

all bed edges redefined

This will be a one time thing in April, I think it would take about 3 hours with 2 guys

my guess is 4 hrs

again my guess is 4 hrs

I think 2 hours would be a good estimate to cut, then an hour to cleanup

Did you measure that yourself? If so how did you do that?

I used google earth to do the measuring, cant really wheel it right now the snow on the ground wont allow for it. To put the measurements on the photo I utilized paint on the computer.

28cuts x 1.5hrs = 42hrs
weeding beds 1hr per month for 7 months? = 7 hrs
bed edging 2men 3hrs each = 6hrs
spring cleanup = 4hrs
fall cleanup = 4hrs
hedge trimming = 2hrs

65 hrs total?

65hrs x $45? = $2925

Would that work? Or did I miss something?

Steve, this is four one year is that correct?

If so that will cost them....

Divide $2925.00 by 52 weeks = $56.25 per week.

Steve that seems quite low for such a large property. These different services shouldnt all be charged by $45.oo and hour when say pruning you should charge more as well as spring/fall cleanups. However, I think the mowing can constitute a $45.00 an hour charge.

there will be 2 workers for each of those hours so that should be doubled? Also it would be over a 7 month period for the billing, Apr - End of Oct

Calculations can get messy when we are talking man hours.

Can you take what I wrote and edit it to show us what you mean by

The total man hours would be 130. 2 workers x $45

My actual payroll would be $18 an hour for the 2 workers, so

I submitted a bid for $4418.00 which would work out to a monthly payment of $631.14.

The next day they called me to submit a bid for their other apartment complex in the next town. I wonder if that's a good sign. I'm going over to that one today to get a visual of the area.
