hey sorry about not posting the ( pic's ) i was busy but i went to my buddies house and he sold his trailer on monday . sorry buddy. i will see if he's got any pic's of his trailer later on today and if he does i will post the pictures tonight

heres what i got on my trailer. . . . they work great and are out of the way. . they mount on the rails of your trailer. . . and you can literary lift up the rear gate with 2 fingers. . . my 2 year old can lift my gate and my rear gate is 7ft wide by like 5ft tall

they cost about $200 bucks but well worth the money. . .

i think making a home made one will just look cheap on your trailer. . or if you run a winch or cable down the trailer to pull it up. . that's going to take a lot of time opening and closing your gate. . TIME IS MONEY. . BUY A KIT IT WILL PAY OFF IN THE END!!!

I spent many hours searching for some way to solve the same problem with that heavy gate and finally went with the Elegator Spring. This is the best investment I have made since starting. I have attached a link to a couple photos with it on my trailer so you can see how simple it is to install. It is easy to install and just about any 7 or 8 year old can operate the gate now. I no longer even bend over to close it since I can hook my toe under it and flip it up. I purchased two sets and I only need one.
