Anyone out there have some reference (sorry not an ad where you make money, wont even think about) for web design, mobile design, hosting with domain dnsand cpanel, etc. Etc. Advertising online and locally, etc.
I want it basic enough cause its Just for a landscaping business yet high tech flashy enough there is a reason why people want to use my services over others...

I dunno, talk to me programmers.

Lawn care business tips
I used NB Media Solutions LLC (http://www.nbmsllc.com/). Nicholas is the owner and is a great guy and very informative and helpful. The website they created for me (www.thegroundscrewllc.com). Shoot him an email if you wan't and say curtis michael reccomended you. When you get a website made through them you also get a free year of hosting and $75 of google advertising. They also have an option where you can pay a small monthly fee to have your website updated and changed as many times as you want. Hope you like them.

I used go daddy!
i bought a website tonight package where its basic editing

local-landscapers.com

that's my website so far

godaddy's customer service is excellent, i like that they are 24/7 so i can call anytime because im not usually working on my website during normal work hours...

pretty cheap, i ended up getting priced for about $10 a month, domain and hosting and the editing with website tonight. they kind of messed their billing up in my favor.

I should just quit giving advice on web sites because it's almost always not well received. I'm just going to say a few things and leave it at that.
  1. If you cheap out on your site it will look cheap.
  2. If you are not a professional site designer and you make your own site it will look like an amateur made it.
  3. Unless you've had experience in creating site layouts, your layout will probably break. Like a "kick me" sign, you won't know why everyone is laughing.
  4. Know what to look for. Paying a lot doesn't necessarily get you a lot.
  5. There are a lot of hacks out there that hang a shingle and have no training.
  6. Demand and keep receipts for everything.

Thanks for all the advise and recommendtions keep them coming.

See, here is the thing. I have worked in the IT industry for 7 years and owned my own business. I am skilled in HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CGI, flash, etc. Intact I've design a script for vB, in fact I had my own message forum script that was pretty big.
I could simply do it my own self but years have pasted and they have new stuff and mobile sites and I don't have the software anymore. So, I am a tougher critic I guess.

Cheap as in I've got money to pay for what I want, not over pay for crap.. lol

I work on mine over the winter. I mostly make changes to the backend. I made mine load quicker by consolidating some files but I should work on optimizing the markup for SEO.

I feel ya. A good way to measure a web page company is to run their site through the W3 Validator and see if it validates. Then look at the source code, if they use tables for layout find someone else. While you're in the source look for a CSS file (there should only be one or two at the most, one preferred) and open that up, too. If there are tons of
Code:
position: absolute;
declarations in there find someone else.

If you want me to look at a potential designer for you, let me know their web site and I'll have a look. It will be a brutally honest review so don't be shocked.

What about using the free wordpress.org and then a free lawn care template?

Something like this?

I agree with Mark & Steve of course, since I build WordPress business websites. I too had a Intuit website and have built several of them, but for SEO and functionality, WordPress has answered all my business questions. JEEEEEZ, I pay less per Y~E~A~R than when I was with Intuit..

I purchased 50+ Themes for $39/year I can use anytime I feel like. If I want to change the direction or look of my website/s, I just install the one I want.

PRICE FOR YEAR I PAY TOTAL

Hosting: $70 for both of my websites
Themes: $39

SELLING

I am a born salesman, but that is not my intention here GUYS & GALS. My life, as hard as it may seem to believe, (because none of you REALLY know me)is about SERVICE, and that is why I took this time (on a Friday Night, chillin with my wife) to present REAL GOOD options for your business.

Benefits of WordPress

Let see my ranking has Jumped from 6,690,000 since December 1st, 2011 and today sits at 718,018 this very moment, der!

Man I just built my WordPress Business Website Building site on December 22nd, 2011 and it's ranked at 804,757.

Did I mention unlimited pages? I can't name everything here, but I bet MARK123 knows exactly what I'm talking about....

WordPress Live Sites

Here is the current one I'm working on, it is live, but miles from completion:

Wolf Construction

Here is my other WP website:

I like wordpress. It has some issues and you've really got to clean up the code on the templates and the backend is a bit inconsistent but it's quite capable as a content management system.

It's a bit complex for the non-techy though. I use a CMS that I built from the ground up for my sites now. Originally, I built it for customers that hated working with joomla, wordpress and other more complex systems and I ended up liking it myself even though I was familiar with wordpress. I make tweaks to it all the time but I think it's due for a complete rewrite.
