I did not know where to post this, so I will here. I am about ready to go to the courthouse to file my DBA. I have a company name that I like, but I feel it may reflect negatively in the beginning. I would like some input. The name that I would Like to use is "LAZY DOG LAWN CARE" please reply.

While some may find it "cute", I personally don't think it's the best way to go.

By using any "negative" word, you're already working against yourself. We all react to images, colors, smells, and such in a way that we may not even be consciously aware of. Why risk alienating a portion of your audience?

A few quick examples of names using both "positive" words and "not so positive"...

There is a lot of good info on the web about the importance of the words you choose when naming a business. It can get more complicated and time consuming than some people would like, but it's important - it's YOU.

The fun part is when you DO finally come up with a good, solid name only to find that it's not available.

I want to thank all of the people who replied. Every ones replies just proved what I believed deep down inside. The name comes from an inside joke, from people who know me. I would assume that if you did not know me you would not understand, also the majority of my would be customers do not know me and will probably find the same thoughts running through their heads. In the end being cute just does not mean being smart.
