Default What is Red Beacon?

As I understand, they are a variation of Service Magic. You only pay, if you win the contract. Service Magic has been extremely successful for us and I was looking into expanding the lead generation machine with them. They contacted us awhile back and I didn't pursue. Now, we can handle more business.

I used red beacon this spring they charge $15 for one time jobs and $30 for on going. You bid on the job and if you win you pay..... but.
1. they tried billing me for jobs I never did or bid on. did 1 job billed for 5 extra
2. they wrote to a customer saying it was me writing.
3. I told them I do not do one time mows and they told customers I would like to come out and do a free estimate.

If you need work and don't mind playing games they maybe ok for you.
$15 is not bad for jobs over $100 but a lot are small jobs. And one time mow is code for "overgrown"

Basically your paying someone else to find you work and you pay them 1/2 the profits. I would do it if I were the other guy behind the desk. Lol

Probably not. Service Magic has worked extremely well for us. We have done more than $12,000 this year through them. I was hoping this would render the same type of lead and return.

Out of those customers you got through service magic, what percentage of them are reoccurring customers? Like weekly mowing customers?

One half of the customers are one time project i.e. landscape maintenance, lawn installation, tree pruning, etc... I have only had 2 customers that had me mow once. All others are on contract. The 2 one timers covered the lead fee, fuel, and some labor. I obviously don'twant those, but you can't win them all.
