Thumbs down Zombie = Me

Left for work at midnight, got home at 6:30AM just to take a break... I actually woke up yesterday around noon.

I'm half way through my work, but now I'm slowing down and feeling the pain. Oh god.... It's almost 8AM, and I'm procrastinating, but I gotta go back out soon.

You Americans are lucky, I would have hired so many illegal immigrants by now!

If I'm not on the forum by tonight, it means I'm dead somewhere. I predict that I will be home at approx: 3PM/5PM.

Ya, shoveling walkways like a champ.

I've been awake for over 26 hours now.

And I can't even sleep right now... lmfao

I gave up right now, 12PM. Not really done yet, but I'm just not in the mood to care right now... lol

When are you getting a snow plow or is that not in any of your future plans?

I would be wasting my time with a plow, the competition is too great.

I just need some people who can work till they feel like puking when it comes to walkway clearing.

I'm worried any random stranger will want to be dropped off within the first hour. Because I own a company, I have a drive to get things done. Heck, even I wouldn't work for myself!

Why do you feel it has been so hard getting some people to help?

Depending on what part of town you are from, you will carry a certain attitude. A lot of people who apply are from, "that part of town", and I would like them to stay far away from me, lol. I reverse search all incoming email addresses to figure out as much as I can on those who apply.

Others who apply, you can tell right away how useless they will be. I'm not picky, but I just like my workers clean and to also take pride in their work (rare). Pace is very important to me, as I move fast and anyone who slows me down is going to get on my nerves.

A lot goes into the following;

1. Who can I tolerate for hours without making my duration with them miserable? An entire day in a truck with another exhausted person has many outcomes.

2. Do they complain more than me? I am usually encouraging towards assistants, it's my job to keep them happy, and I will always humor them. If all they do is make the work feel like a drag, they have no place with me;

3. Do they have a tendency to discourage or demoralize me with their negative attitude? e.g. "Do we really need to do it? I can't believe how much we have to do.. bla bla".

4. Can they keep up? My body has adapted to punishment, and I have no time to let someone else adapt, they need to push themselves hard from the start. When I wait around, or find myself doing all the work because they aren't as efficient, it becomes a problem.

etc etc...

Maybe I am picky.

There is no doubt in my mind that you have a strong work ethic that I am sure it would be difficult for others to keep up with. Maybe though with help, would the work load be lessened and therefor allow for someone with less drive to be able to still keep up with you?

In theory of course! In practice, I still can't remove that need to 'rush', even if the hours will be cut dramatically from our workload. It's something I plan to work on! I really wish I could have the good effects of being drunk 24/7, lol.

I believe that it's because I really want to avoid being bombarded with complaints, so the faster we finish the less I will have to deal with at the end of the shift when I'm cranky and trying to sleep.

There is nothing worse than trying to sleep during waking hours and the phone happens to ring the entire time. It's my burden, and I plan to avoid it at all costs.
