Well you know I am a pretty good driver 34 years and I only got one speeding ticket, Nothing else ever. I like to think I am pretty level headed when I get behind the wheel...............
well till today.I was out today in the middle of a winter Nor-Easter Lashing rain and 90-100KPH winds taking my snow blower to the dealer for its yearly check up. I am going threw the tolls there is a tractor trailer in front of me one 1/2 ton and two cars to my right and three cars to my left I slow and let the 1/2 ton in on my right and then the orange car on my left I then move froward in line yo know the correct one on one type set up , except this little Toyota on my left thinks she can just speed up and cut in between me and the orange car
well ahhhhh noway jack. I keep my spot and they lay on the horn and flip me the finger. Next thing I know my cell phone is ringing. As it is illegal to talk and drive I let it go to voice mail. Once I get over the harbour bridge and find a spot to pull over I call my Voice mail The message was like this. "Hello Ducke's Lawn care you just cut me off on the McKay Bridge I guess you know nothing about customer services you stupid S#!T I am going to tel everyone that I know just how mush of a A$$ you really are". (She had a very cute British accent) So needless to say I was P!$$ED off so I called her back and left her a voice mail " Hello this is Graham of Ducke's Lawn Care I don't know how you drive in your country but here we are Curtis and merge on a one on one basis so in actuality you were the one trying to cut me off Oh Ya also you B!TC# it is also illegal here to talk on your cell phone while driving "
Afterwards I kind of think I blew it calling her back, But it just sent me off when she called me a Stupid S#!T .
Well that was my fun today other then watching my neighbours patio furniture blow down the street again.

Lawn care business tips
kinda funny when its not you. I dont get people they drive like idiots and then blame everyone on the road. I drive a f350 dually with a mason dump and most the time a 16ft trailer. Someone cuts in front of me everyday. They dont seem to care that my truck/trailer combo is somewhere around 15,000lbs.

People who are in the wrong ALWAYS think they are in the right.

This also serves as a good example of why you should always be a courteous driver when you are in your work vehicle.

Hmmm... maybe that's another reason some people don't letter their trucks? LOL

It's pretty bad down here to.

There is a intersection so dangerous, I know to be very cautious. I usually need to continue straight, but I must come to a full stop beforehand and watch out for oncoming cards to my right before crossing, and make sure they stop before I advance.

I almost lost my passenger door 3 times, because people really speed through that intersection.

I remember (oh god, really, it is a women thing I can't resist), I made a full stop, no cars arriving, I advance.

So as I'm already in the center of the intersection, some chick on her cell phone goes through her stop sign and drives right up to my door and honks, gives me the "Pay attention" look.

.... The things I wanted to do... MAN!

Scenario 2;

I hate when the elderly approach and stop 5 car lengths away from the stop sign at an intersection. When I turn onto a street, they are literally impossible to see, and they often continue driving basically THROUGH the stop sign. They have a bad depth perception that could get someone killed, the fact they honk just makes me want to *insert rage*. One old man honked at me, and he was still 5 friggen car lengths away from the stop sign. I stopped in the center and gave him that look.

Scenario 3;

God damn high beams. I'm sick and tired of all these morons driving around with them for no apparent reason. I'll usually have these punks in their little crap box car zooming around behind me with their high beams on.

I have gotten pretty angry and this, so I usually pull over and let them go in front of me, then I flick on my high beams. See how they like it.

It's almost impossible to see anything, and very dangerous to drive around in a suburban area where people are inconsiderate of other drivers. Oncoming drivers too, if you blind me as I am doing a turn, I will most likely wish death upon you.

I mounted a 1 million watt light on the back of the cab, for seeing the load in the dark, but when someone does that to me I accedently turn it on, oops sorry, but they get back real quick. Sometimes they even turn down thier lights.

Ok, my initial reaction was one of laughter, that she would call you and do that and then you called her back. There is something funny about that when you are not in the moment.

But on the flip side it makes you think. Whenever you are driving or out in public and are representing your business, it's almost as if you have to be very conscious of it and be very polite in all that you do. This applies to employees too.

Now in this specific situation, I am sure she will have no effect on your business, but can you imagine if this was a daily occurrence in your service area? It could have a negative impact on business. Not everyone will call to complain but they may make note of it and remember it.

After having some time since it happened, do you have any thoughts on it now?

I've seen lots of these. Company trucks have "How's my driving ? " on their trucks with their unit # and the website where you can fill out the info and give reviews on the people driving. I think it can be a good thing or bad thing

Steve makes a very important point, once you put your name on a vehicle, every action we takes leaves an impression in the eyes of the public. As hard as it may be, it is critical to always take the high road, give in even if it goes against what may be right or wrong.

Now days with the Internet it is if one is under the microscope 24/7, it only takes one to issue a message that can go viral.

Oh my, I didn't even think of that! Imagine some driver out there putting some video to a voice mail message left and having that go viral! Yikes! That could be a huge problem!

We have seen crazy stories being picked up by the local news.
