Is the Hummer brand dead? What's your take on it?

I think that truck is amazing. I am talking about the H1. Yes I know it's a gas guzzler but it's still wild to be able to buy a military type vehicle if you wanted one. It seems over the top rough and tough and some people will always want one.

Dead brands walking - Whatever noble intentions GM had for Hummer, they have been permanently damaged by the greenhouse gas debate. Hummer should be sold to whomever winds up with Jeep after Chrysler is broken up. More Jeeps fall off the truck on the way to the dealer than Hummer sells in a week.

That is a fascinating business idea! Do you still run it?

Do you have any pictures of the ads on your hummer?

What did you learn from the experience of it?

well unfortunately, my grass business supercedes everything. I still own the website and have plenty more info on it... ie, prices, length of contract, ya know like a basic terms of service. Im still trying to put all the peices together, but were a 2 truck company in south jersey, and we recieved over 310 phone calls for new work just in the month of april. They all got a phone call and they all got estimates... believe it or not. Anyways, the hummer is not dead... by reading your post, it gave me a little more incentive to get the ball rolling with that again!! In between our landscape company, the newly formed nightlighting company, and well get back to HUMMVERTISE!!!! WISH ME LUCK... and by the way.... would you like to advertise with us??

Very interesting!

What got you into this business?

Just so I understand, the business puts signs on Hummers and drives them around? What kinds of signs are these? Do you have any pictures?

No pics as of yet. Our plans are to do a logo wrap on the truck and charge per month basically. My motivation.... wanted a hummer and didnt wanna pay for it outta my pocket. I knew I could market this idea... As a company owner, just as a basic poll, do you see a market for this?? I really wanna pursue it but not if the idea sucks...lol

What if, you could also some how incorporate renting the Hummer as well. That might be interesting too. Then it could be driven around a lot.

Maybe it could pull a trailer with even more advertising on it?

What kind of Hummer would you use?

The problem with the Hummer is they did a mass production of them. If they would have stayed simple and small, with very limited number of vehicles then I think they would be doing better now.

H1 is the only real hummer. After the spring rush slows a bit, Id be interested in showing you all my numbers and info and getting your take on it.
