Lawn care business tips
Haha. Yeah, the reason my photos appear in my post as opposed to being shown as a thumbnail is because I use a photo hosting site instead of doing the "attachment" thing.

I use Photobucket.com, but there are lots of other hosting sites available.

I like it because even though I have Photoshop and can resize my images, I don't need to - I just upload them to Photobucket and they all get resized (smaller file size) automatically. Then just click on the image link and paste it into the body of my post.

Ta-da!

You can also get the url of the photo you posted once you post it by clicking on it. Then copy the url and edit your post to include that url.

Very nice truck!

How do you like the dually and the crew cab? Also, is that a dump bed insert?

I tried the reposting with the url thingy didn't work but only second time posting photos of all the time I have been on this forum.
Steve
I love this truck I call it my tank. I bought it as a dual purpose work/family truck. Well with the dump in doesn't look as sharp... :-(

The crew cab is nice for getting people to a site/sleeping in the back seat.
It is not so nice for plowing in tight areas/sharp and tight turns. I actually bought an 87 full size bronco.

The dually is great for the added wieght of my trailer and a full bed of material. However it kills on fuel and doesn't help plowing really need to put it in 4wd to plow.

Yes it's a dump insert it is a 8 foot EZ DUMPER. With wood siderails and a cab protector with tarp roller. It was 1200 pluss 800 to install for 2000 I gave myself a dump that is so helpfull with mulch work and also leaf clean-up.

The Leaf Tarp system was 535 with tax and the leaf loader swing arm was 590 with tax. It is great can still pull my trailer and not have to find a muscular friend/family member to lift off the loader just to dump the truck well worth it for a single operator and fair pricing. They are in Dunellen, NJ Blancher Canvas I have their number in my phone I will edit it tom with the number for those interested well worth the drive and it only took a day.
I am attaching photos of the bronco and my trailer

Those are some great pictures! That is an amazing setup!

As you experiment with different options and configurations on your truck have you found an ideal you would like if you could start over with the same money?

Would you start again with a dually or would a regular crew cab pickup work better? Or maybe even something else?

Would you like a dump of do you prefer the dump insert?

I am sure a lot of new members are wondering what the best way to go is.

Steve
Thanks. I like my setup now. I think with the weight in the truck and the trailer it needs the dually. Plus I had a flat today and kept going till I got to a mechanic to plug the tire thanks to the dual rear wheels.

Looking back I would have put the leaf system together last year or my first year. I fit a lot more leaves...it saves time loading and driving to a dump, dump fees, and looks more proffesional.

I actually have a mason dump truck...never used it it's been at the mechanic the whole time I have owned it. I think for an extra 2-3k you can have the dump option with an insert it saves a lot of time and back pain. If you don't have the money to buy a dump truck used or new and have a pick up it is def a great option. Looking back I am happy with my purchases I am not one to waste money or buy things for me but they really save time and aggrivation.

Are you looking to add any more modifications to your truck or trailer in the future?

Steve.
I am pretty happy with the truck as it is. The frame is rusted but not rotted from plowing so I am looking for another truck and everything is attached to the ez dump insert which I can unbolt and transplant into a newer truck. That probably won't be till at least next year. Also the floor of the dump needs to be replaced soon. I am trying to find someone who can do it before I end up buying a welder on craigslist and giving it a crack.

The trailer only things I am doing to it are putting in a track system to hang hand tools and my trimmers. I bought an electric jack (4) later soooooo worth the expense to it as the old jack was a pain to use due to the placement of the leaf loader. The first three were from harbor freight cheap pieces of crap. Spent 300 for a really good one and haven't had an issue yet. Only paid 2000 for the trailer and when I sold my old trailer to buy the new one only had to spend 300 to cover the upgrade.

What would be next on your list? Do you have some in mind that you are considering?
