Here is a cautionary tale to those lcos who run for office or have a family member in a political position. If you use those connections to get work, you might lose out.

Have you ever run into a situation where you lost a government bid because another lco was connected?

Ethics concern prompts ZT board for re-vote - The Zane Trace board rescinded a vote due to ethics concerns and created a new position.

The vote rescinded was for a lawn care contract with Greenwalt Lawn Care which is owned by board member Jack Greenwalt’s son, Dennis Greenwalt. Greenwalt did not abstain from voting for the contract at last month’s meeting.

Carolyn Everidge, superintendent, said she and the board felt that business had been conducted properly concerning the bid because Greenwalt had not seen the bids until the night they were originally approved. However, they rescinded the vote and re-voted to approve with Greenwalt abstaining at Wednesday’s meeting.

I don't agree with it still. Just like a local guy here that is on the school board. A bunch of us rasied heck when he kept on getting the bids for landscaping, hydroseeding, etc. Finally, the board, after an uproar from the audience attenance, agreed that his company can not submit bids and get them while he is on the board
