How to keep your clients all year round

Some of my clients have paid for the month of October (the end of the season for me). Because I still hold a few of my customers checks, and a lot of lawns could go without maintenance - I had written up a letter explaining that their payment maybe added towards our snow clearing service. _________ 3 scenarios: 1. They pay the difference for snow removal 2. They keep the check, don't bother with the grass or snow 3. They give me back the check, and I continue lawn maintenance _________ This gives us all a reason advertise a longer season to clients who use post-dated checks! "Your grass doesn't need any more maintenance, would you like for us to put your payment(s) towards our winter service?"

Lawn care business tips

So these customers have given you post dated checks for months you wont be cutting? Like November too? Does it have to apply to just lawn care or can it apply to all property care? Snow removal would fall under that. Did you use any kind of agreement or contract for the year this year?

As much as I should, I have yet to use contracts. My faith in humanity is lacking, and hopefully next year I will have something written up that doesn't make me look like such a d***.

I have 157 walkways to shovel this winter, so things should be interesting and keep me busy.
