Lawn care business tips
Call your rental store and ask if they rent a compact utility tractor with a backhoe, you will be done in a couple of hours and you can use the loader to quickly pick up the shrubs and load or dump them somewhere, here is what I own, they rent them and because they are on wheels, there is no damage left behind.

How long did that job actually take you vs how many hours did you bid it for?

What did you use a shovel? A come-along could help pull the stumps out.

How much faster do you think it would have been with a backhoe?

Like picframer said, rent one of those mini-backhoes and make your life so much easier. 4 hour rental for one of those babies is about $250. You'd be done in four hours, your back and your *** won't be sore, and you could be moving on to your next job.

You need to work the rental into your price and make some money for yourself.

Rental+labor+truck+overhead=what you should charge.

So at your rate you should get all 41 pulled in 13+ hours provided you don't take a break. So at $50 an hour you will be charging over $650.

Compare that to renting mini and your 4 hours of labor and overhead, you would likely be saving your customer some money.
