Default Simple cut grass price.

Hello, I need a price for this size garden for a cut, trim and blow. I figured it would take me about 40mnts with a good size ride on lawn mover. But I dont have one so it will be like 1 hour. But I have to charge if I had a big one because next guy might have a big lawn mover.
What would be the cost for this simple cut? Thank you.

Lawn care business tips
take your hourly rate and multiply it by how many hours it will take you to do the job .

Wow I just realized that it's a regular size door so any machine that is 40" or will not fit.
So its regular size fence door.

I can't take my hourly rate because I have to keep my prices with other companies. But I'd say that I would charge $CAD150.00 per month x 4 services.
Its all straight lines no hills or major turn and no trees.

I dont get it ,pricing a job on others prices doesnt make sense ,its your business ,you set the rates to compete with others, and earn a living for yourself ,if you find your rate is uncompetitive in your marketplace ,you need to adjust accordingly or close up shop .

I'm not pricing a job on other prices but I need to stay on competitive, I have no idea what others will charge I can only calculate the price as much as I can, and then ask for reassurance on this site.

I think about the same way you do Emar. Some projects in the past I have bid on assuming I had the proper equipment even if I didn't, or based on how much time I'm saving the homeowner if they tackled the job themselves. Why, because the average landscaping company that would bid that job would have it and the customer doesn't want to pay more just because I'm under equipped. This is also the reason I believe that the national hourly rate average is low. Would you pay some one much more for putting in an irrigation system because they chose to work with a trenching shovel instead of using a trencher? Bed edging is another time consuming task when done by hand, and when done by machine of course much quicker and much more profit even if done cheaper.

On the other hand I bid some projects with a worse case scenario figured in there. I happen to have 61" z mower's and two walk behinds the smallest of which is 36". I usually will assume that the small walk behind won't fit when there's no double gate to get the Z through. Myself on this yard (w/o the fence) I would be at about $35 per service (my minimum/ and being competitive in my area) , but throwing that extra weed eating in around the fence and assuming push mowing the back would drive me up at least $10 more.

Thanks Fisher for you realistic response, you do understand that you will not charge the homeowner for lack of big equipment. Also what do you mean "throwing that extra weed eating in around the fence "?
I offered the customer 150. Per month since I still fresh in the business so that price I think is good for me. I have self push lawn mower so with trip and blow it would take me like 1 hour 10mnts. I just wanted to know if what I offered was good or reasonable.

I was thinking the $35-$40 range, but that's just me looking at a photo. Also different areas will be priced differently.

It may take an hour the first time, but I'll bet you can do that in less the next time - even with a push mower. (what I use)
