15' Palm was removed in 1hr and a half quoted it at $400 charged $300 since it was way faster haha what do u guys usually charge for a service like that?

my charge for that would be a minimum $1000.00 ,the nearest palm tree to me is at least a few hundred dollar flight away,so I need to charge more .
Anyways,just because you did the job quicker than you planned,doesnt mean you need to adjust your rate ,if the job took you 8 hours,would they of paid you anymore ?

Yeah thats a good poit bruce. The only time I would have charged less was if Was trying to build a long term relationship with the client... That would build up trust real quick.

I should of mentioned that i have been working with this clients Landscape for about 3 weeks now, the previous "Landscape" company did a horrible job with plant choice, grading and they did not know how to control erosion i have been correcting all their errors and the palm tree is part of the correction process. I usually charge about $600 for a palm tree that size and heck no they would of not paid me more if i had stayed there for 8hrs you've got a point there

i will show some pictures of what kind of things i had to correct later, i mean the way they installed the sprinkler system was all wrong some sprinkler heads where higher then others, some would just burst off with the pressure, the valves where not even connected to the timer, the rain sensor was installed the wrong way so many other things that i took pictures of and we are still not done correcting their errors i suggested to the client it would be easier for me to take all the crap they did and install my own landscape instead of correcting it... but o well

This job sounds like a great learning experience. There are plenty of pictures you could take showing us the wrong way the other company did things and how you had to correct it.

I bet this customer is very happy with you. Maybe they could give you a testimonial and you could create some marketing on how the lowest bid isn't always the best bid to go with. Then maybe in a brochure, you could tell this customers story about what went wrong and what needed to be done to make it right.

In the end, if they had only hired you in the first place, this never would have happened!

That could be a great selling point.

thanks steve Yeah i learned to make sure the Sod is a good batch, ill show you guys pictures what a bad batch of sod looks like tomorrow, all the sod i installed Died, main suspect is Bacteria i will have to replace the whole thing but no biggie its an amazing looking plot of land

How quickly did it die and where do you suspect the bacteria came from? Also, what's your view on why you suspect that?
