Lawn care business tips
better there than 40 minutes south of where you are. I grew up in Yelm about 16 miles east of Olympia.

That Steve is on it.
I've done a lot of checking. The best I can tell (for Washington State - where spring will eventually come) is you need to be licensed for pesticides and herbicides but not to apply fertilizer. But that will probably change with the phosphorus legislation that passed.

Anybody have different information on it?

Can you send the fertilization license question to that email address? I am thinking they will want you licensed to apply fertilizer.

I sent them an email asking if you need to be licensed to apply fertilizer to residential or commercial lawns in Washington State.
I will post the reply here when I get it.

Ok the reply I got from agr.wa.gov is that you do NOT need an applicators license in Washington State to apply fertilizer. But if you are going to do fertilizer for clients, you should know about the phosphorus legislation that passed recently. Run a search for it in Washington State. I don't think it takes effect until next year, but better to be aware of it. Not a big deal.
