Default Tune Up Questions

May sound dumb but I need advice. My blowers and trimmers are Red Max and are do not have a lot of hours on them. They are starting to not run very well. I use redmax 2 cycle oils 50 to 1 mix and reg fuel. They are becoming hard to start. I clean the cleaners, change the plugs but seem to have to pull on them for many times to get on of my trimmers to start. Have to run on choke for about two minutes and then it is good to go. The blower (back pack) starts up good but after about 5 minutes of running seems to run low on power. Do you guys clean the carbs out on these often or just take them to a repair center? I mix in a two gallon gas can with 6 oz of oil mix. As we all know I do not have time to play with the equipment to get my jobs done. What am I not doing right here or is the equipment just messed up? They are two years old but I am not a full time business.

Cool

Lawn care business tips
It sounds like to me the carbs need to be cleaned. What type of Cycle oil are you using?

Are the spark plugs getting fouled? Can you try swapping a spark plug out with a new one and see how that effects things?

Might be this crappy gas too. I use plus to try and cut down on the issues! Once a month I use super with the mix. I am also part time.

I use the RedMax in the gallon. What do you guys think about two cycle synthetic oil? Is it better? What is the best I'll buy it.

I tried to get plugs but for some reason I cannot get a match. It is an NGK brand. Is there a standard plug like CJ8 that would be okay? I do not understand why all that means. Man now I am really sounding dumb. Sorry

I can sure try that. The last I bought was super but mixed it with my reg. Again I have been told that some stations have better gas than others but have no idea how to find that out as well.

try to find a gas station that uses pure fuel you can look here www.pure-gas.org as for the mix Redmax mix is synthetic mix and one of the better mixes out. I would try running 2 caps of seafoam in your next mix and see what that does. As for the plug I do not know of any other plugs that will work with Redmax.

I don't know if any of our fellow members who own mower shops have the parts for sale or not, if they do, please post them.

Here is a site I found that has redmax blower spark plugs.

Thank you. I checked and no stations in my area with pure fuel.
