eBay / PayPal Scam: Digimax 130

Quote:
If you received an email about your recent eBay purchase of a Digimax 130, you don’t need to bother clicking the Dispute Transaction link.

This is an all-too-common scam to get you to give up your PayPal login information, so don’t fall for it.

In the version I received, the Payment Details included:

Amount: $47.85 USD

Transaction ID: 2LC956793J776333Y

Subject: Digimax 130

The seller was named as Edward Harrell, eBay user ID: scratchandgnaw2, although if there really is an Edward Harrell of Springtown, Texas, you can be sure he had nothing to do with this.

Yeah, I got that in my inbox. I knew it was a scam, but it still made me check my Paypal transactions!

It's weird, all I did was post an ad on craigslist (with a different email address) and my add had a 'picture' of my business email - which means someone is purposely looking at all the postings on craigslist and jotting down the contact info they see.

Craigslist... Always temping, always something to regret.

I would have to disagree with you on that one sir, I have made quite a good some of money hustling the people of craigslist..haha

not really hustling..just buying something cheap..selling it for more..or trading for somethign worth more and more and selling it..

ive made a good sum of money off of that..so im a fan haha

the scams and spam messages sure are a PITA though

Default News Report

I just saw on the news tonight that a few bigger companies got hacked over this past weekend and that paypal was one of them. Now they (hackers) are trying to use phising emails to get peoplpe to click on the link and enter in the info on a fake look-a-like website. So Beware!

Scott,

Did anything else come of this or is it all fine now?

Any thoughts on what others should be looking out for or be concerned with?

Well I apparently really love these cameras, as I apparently bought another!

LOL! I got the same spam email twice. And that's because I made a second posting on craigslist. It's completely real man, craigslist is full of spam.
Craigslist gave my email aids.
