need advice on truck trade

I may have an oppurtunity to trade a 04 silverado 5.3 ext cab w/97000 miles for a 02 f-250 4 door 7.3 powerstroke diesel w/167000 miles. I am not too familiar with diesel trucks but know that it would pull my trailer easier. any advice would be helpful.

I have an '01 Silverado 5.3 as well - bought it to pull a 25' camping trailer.
I can accelerate and pass traffic going uphill while pulling the trailer.

Wish I could help you. I have a F150 and it's too small for me. My business is not large enough to get a 3/4 ton.

I am sure you will have folks help you out with this.

Your gas mileage will go up and yes you will be able to pull a house down. You will also be able to double if not triple that mileage without worries of replacing a motor, infact the truck will probably rust out before the motor quits. That goes for any diesel. If you can afford it the diesel is definately the way to go in the long run. Your gas price is going to go up but your also going to get roughly 6 or 7 miles more per gallon.

Am I the only one that ignored everything ells and noticed the trade of the newer truck for an older truck with more miles on it? I bet you buddy is giddy right now lol. I drive a 96 Ram 1500 with a little 318 in it and have never ever had a problem pulling anything.
