I was not even in the market for a Toyota, I'm actually a Ford guy-having been in the Ford auto industry for 12 years. But this one really caught my eye and after doing some research, I have to tell you it has far exceeded my expectations. I do have a rare model-it has an 8.1 ft bed on it. Most Tundras out there are 6ft. It has the tow package with factory extended mirrors. I have a 5.7L in it and I have to tell you this is the most powerful truck I have ever had. It can pull up to 11,000 LBS and is smooth as can be down the road pulling my work trailer or the camping trailer. It's also just a nice ride when the wife and I go on road trips (recently drove over 3000 miles in a week). I highly recommend looking at the Tundra.

Once again, Congrats, that is a really great looking outfit!

Had to talk the wife in these "upgraded" racks, but since getting them have had no regrets at all-they are tough, good looking and they lock! You can get them here: http://www.trailerracks.com/

My truck is a Chevy I wish all my trucks had been Chevys they last forever
Over the last 20 years, I've owned 3 trucks...
In 1990 I bought my first truck - a (new) GMC Somoma.
In 1998 I bought a (new) Dodge Dakota. (mistake)
In 2001 I bought a (new) Chevy Silverado.
I had a total of 0 (zero) problems with the Sonoma. (It was finally in need of brakes when I sold it in 98)
I can't recall the number of individual problems with the Dakota, but it was in the shop for repairs 13 times in 3 years.
Since 2001, the Silverado had a wire go bad for the heated mirror once. (Oh, the humanity! )
I'll eat my own poo before buying another Chrysler product.
Oh, and to sort of get back to the original topic, I didn't get a chance to wash the mud off - maybe tomorrow!

She's holding up well for her age. Bought this truck new in... heck, I can't remember now, but it's a 2001 and they wanted it gone as the 2002 models had come out.
If you look at the pic from the rear, there are some scuffs on the tail light cover (happened while parked). That and a teeensy, leeeetle scratch on the other side are the only real "marks" on it.
Well, I try to forget about it, but there were two "incidents" that did require paint work to be done. Once when a bullet landed on the roof during Fourth of July "celebrations" and again when someone on a bicycle slammed into me and his head/shoulder put a dent in my hood. The roof was repaired/painted, as was the hood.
I've been very happy with this truck. Aside from it's appetite for brakes, I have no complaints.
Can't wait to get a fresh coat of polish on her and get the chrome wheels out of storage. Now that I have a domain name (no site up yet), I can get some vinyl lettering for the side and rear glass. All that and some nice green grass in the background will make for a nice photo op. Spring is just around the corner!

I do hand detailing for a few people. When doing odd jobs before I started my lawn care business, someone approached me and asked if I detail cars. She said that my truck always looks so good, and she'd rather pay me to do her SUV than someone she doesn't know. Then a few more people asked if I'd clean up their cars.
I couldn't make any real money at it though because I spend way too much time on them. It's more or less something to make a few extra bucks.
