looking for a little help with snow removal company

I am 22 years old I have been driving a plow for a local company for three years now using all there equiptment and I love it but its all 2in runs which here in Chicago isnt to often. So next year I am looking to go on my own I am a very hard worker and know how to be a leader so I think it would be a good idea. The bad is I only have enuff money to drop about 5k into my truck and plow so it wont be anything fancy. I am going to try and do alot of advertising. What im looking for from you is any pointers. I also am not good with amounts to charge. What would you charge for two people to start off me driving and a buddy pushing a blower per hour. I am looking to do residental and commercial. I pretty much am going to start semi small and invest back into my company to grow. If you could please share a little of your experience with me. I am very good at plowing have got many compliment from customers thanks. Kevin Carter

Do you know the rates your current company charges? How do they bill out such jobs in your area?

Will you be getting into lawn care or any other services that will allow you to service your customers all year long?

I am a painter in the summer I wouldnt mind breaking into landscaping at one point once I have the equiptment I need for plowing one step at a time for me. I will build up some clients plowing first. I am not sure how the company I work for bills right now that is the only thing that will take a good amount of learning is the bidding. Where do you guys get your receipts from to give to the clients? Do you keep a log book of all of your clients?
