Default Client portal on your own website?

anybody know how to get a client portal on your own website. Planning on setting up a website as well, but wanting to set them up at the same time. Also looking for a lawn care software that can tie my whole business together.

It really depends on what you want the customers to be able to do on there. I'm guessing you want a payment portal? My past experience with that option was a waste of time for me since most won't feel comfortable entering credit card info online and no one used it. If you have customers that want to go that route, you'll definitely want an SSL certificate for your website (for security purposes). It's not expensive and gives the customers peace of mind.

My host (Arvixe) offered it. You can always use a payment gateway through Paypal. With either route you'll have to use some form of a database for customer login info.

I have a paypal button on our home page. Very rarely is it used. But the option is there. They press it and it goes right to paypal, they give address info then done.

The paypal may be the easiest to get started with. They give you the code and you put it on your site.

Otherwise you will need to be able to do some web programming that will be able ti interact with a database. Can you do it? Sure. But is it worthwhile? It may not be.

There may be some kind of plugin for wordpress to do this as well.

Thanks guys for all the tips. I think I might wait awhile on that option until my company grows.
