So you install these for clients? Interesting as the codes must be different where you live, here the unit must be bolted to a concrete pad that is a min of 6" thick and all cables have to be run inside a black thick PVC pipe, forget the trade name, then the cables and all lines are covered with a 12" wide Red plastic with warning labels then again 4" below the soil as cables here have to be at least 24" deep, this warns anyone digging or drilling and this red plastic has saved my butt on the excavator a few times where the customer thought their lines where eleswhere and were not. Do you have to carry a seperate insurance for this?

What is the benefit to putting the generator so far from the house? Is it to deaden the sound a bit?

Did you enjoy that job? Is it something you promoted to the customer or did they simply call and ask if you could do such a job?

I would think this could be a great service to offer. If you have mechanical ability, you could also probably get an annual contract to maintain it and test it out!

It was all done to code. 18" deep here in NH. Has to be 5' from any structure minimum. The homeowner wanted it away from the house and out of site. We work with an electrician when he needs us he calls us.

Would it be worthwhile to put together a package like this for other homeowners where you work with an electrician and create some marketing material for this service?
