I'm writing a Term Paper on Xeriscaping

Hey Everyone, Im writing a Research paper on Xeriscaping and I need some sources. There really isn't much written on the subject, at least not much scholarly in the school data-base. So my professor said I can interview professionals in the business. My topic is "What are the long term monetary and environmental effects of Xeriscaping for the landscaping industry." I chose this topic because I am a first year landscaper and I have had many client want me to build low maintenance gardens and some have even wanted me to rip out existing ones and replace plants and install drips or simply plug hoses. I am also in agriculture school and a professor pointed out that the more green you replace with rocks the hotter that zone or area becomes, therefore more energy needs to be used to cool people, I realize that is a bit extreme thinking but it's true none the less. If you answer any of these questions can you please tell me at least your first name or (nick name) and company name so I can cite it on my paper. 1) What is the percentage or number of BIDS you do or get asked to do during a season that will allow the home owner or facilities manager some sort of low maintenance upkeep, and how often do you go back and do maintenance on those properties. 2)How much does an average Xeriscaping install cost the client, what is the main cost, is it labor? 3)Why does the client want this done, is it to save water, or save on Utilities, or low maintenance, or just to make their property look better or what? Thanks for taking the time and reading my post and any insight will help.

Lawn care business tips

This is a very interesting question. I haven't seen much discussion on this topic on here. If you do a search you will find some members, I think those living in NM and AZ mainly who have installed such landscape projects, but I havent seen much. It seems to be a great idea if you don't want to be using much water and want a property that requires minimal maintenance. I don't know why though it doesnt seem to have taken off too much. Maybe people still want a green lawn?
