Thanks!

I was working an office job for a couple of years and working on my own lawn then I realized how much better I liked being outside and working with my hands and to not be sitting behind a computer all day. So I quit my job and started my company, its a lot of work but I couldn't be happier.

How did you find the transition to do this? Would you have done anything else up to this point to make the transition easier?

The transition has been a bit difficult and a little stressful (mainly for my wife). It was hard to walk away from a job that I was making decent money and going into a field where nothing was guaranteed. Luckily my old boss is now an investor and is supporting me so I don't have to worry about money for equipment or advertising. But when it comes down to it I have children to feed and clothe and starting out we really had no clue when "payday" was Whats good is now I have more time to spend with my kids and getting exercise which is always good Some things I would do differently? Make a slow transition from job to job. Basically I quit my old job and starting do this right away. If I had to do it over again I would stay at my old job and take a job or two on the weekends until I built up a decent client list and was more confident in what I was doing.

Very interesting! How do you feel your mental outlook has changed now that you are running your own business? Do you feel less stressed than you did before or is there more stress?

Sorry about the delay. When I started I felt a lot more stress you know not really knowing how I was going to succeed. But now that I have some experience and a good customer base I seem more relax and I have time to enjoy my family and not worry about the upcoming week.

Now that you have gone through that process, what advice do you have for other new lawn care business owners who are sitting there questioning if they have what it takes to make it?

Do you feel there is anything a business owner should do to reaffirm they will indeed succeed and stop worrying all the time about it?
