Lawn care business tips
I'd clean up the logo. It's the first thing seen and it's sort of jagged. Looks "home-made".

The line-height is a bit cramped making it hard to read.

Why use a yahoo.com email address when you have a domain name? Looks unprofessional.

Get rid of the Joomla favicon.

Shrink images down beforehand. Don't resize using img width and/or height attributes.

Is there a reason you decided to use Joomla? Seems like overkill.

You can make a favicon there (favicons are the pic in the address bar).

Use bulleted lists instead of paragraphs.

Become an affiliate of Nature's Lawn. They pay you if you link to their website and someone buys something through your link. They have really nice banners (you can click my link in my signature to see what I'm talking about).

Get permission to use pics of clients' lawns and post to your website. To assure my clients, I promise not to reveal their address in any way.

Get a form on your website to allow potential clients to contact you. We get a hefty chunk of business through our site that way.

Same here but remember you're not going to get anything if they can't find you. My site ranks number one in google when using "mowing" and my zip code or city. I get calls and emails because I'm the first link clicked.

TouchtonsCLC, if I may suggest something. If you order a domain name on google they'll give you free hosting. It'll look more professional than a free hosting site. Also, for some reason, Opera has your link to Nature's Lawn marked as an illegal URL.

First of all, these following lines needs to be fixed. You have no key words.

meta name="keywords" content="joomla, Joomla" / Needs your key words placed in the content area separated by commas. i.e. lawn, lawn care , organic lawn care, mowing, montgomery lawn care. Etc.

meta name="description" content="Joomla! - the dynamic portal engine and content management system" / This should have a short description about your company in the content area.

This is from the HTML code on your web page. Sorry I can't help with joomla.

Your letter spacing is terrible to read, at least in Firefox. Be sure to check the look of your site in IE, Firefox and google chrome. The second 2 are free from the web.

I have to agree about the email address but at least get something like MQLC@gmail.com because cleancutlawncare25@yahoo.com makes it seem like you are emailing another company.

One other thing is to set the page width to 800 pixels. Believe it or not, not everyone uses a wide screen and they will have to scroll to the right. I usually leave pages where I have to scroll.

Is it? I have on idea. I'm going thru a 3rd party. The basic page was setup for me. I added the content that you read in the body of the page.

I like the style of the site.

Agree with others about text and line spacing. I wouldn't make the text color so bright. Either use black text or dark green.

Here is the contact form for my site http://www.lawncare.phosphorgallery.com/?page_id=2 Joomla probably has similar things.

Not sure why the spacing is differant on some pages. All pages were done the same way, done in word and copy/paste to the site. I have someone looking at it.
I will continue to improve the site as I learn.

Thanks for all your feedback

Thanks for the help. Everything I've learned about doing a website I've taught myself, so lots of room to grow there.

I've thought about registering a domain name, but I really wanted to save money. But you're right - if I'm not getting traffic it's pointless having an awesome website! LOL
