Really old mower is it worth the price

Looking at buying a 2 STROKE SNAPPER COMMERCIAL LAWNMOWER 4 HP 21 INCH CUT WITH A WISONSIN ROBIN ENGINE. This mower is about 15 years old but still runs which says a lot there. I can get the parts locally but it it worth 400.It is a Old mower that is well built in the shape you would think a 15 year old mower would be in any thoughts is this a good buy?

If you didn't buy that one, what else would you be looking at and how much would it cost? Would the 2-stroke mower be a pain in the butt, due to mixing the gas or no?

$400? Heck no! I'd say $50 at the most. You can get a new one for something like $650, right?

and no cause i would use the same gas as in the weed eater and blower.I have seen this mower still on many lawn trucks today.where the ones they make now days are two year mowers at best.If not this one then another home owners model ill get rid of at the end of the season.

I would think a 2 stroke would be a pain in the butt. I got rid of all my 2 stroke stuff, even my trimmer is 4 stroke now. The only 2 stroke equipment I have not is one blower. 4 stroke has more lower end grunt which I would think is what you want in this industry but the big thing is less maintenance, In my opinion even if it was free I would forget it just because of the higher maintenance.

Snapper Pro Commercial 21" mower MSRP should be $779. Street cost should be less. Either way a 15 year old mower is not worth $400.

Yep. That price comes right off the Snapper website.

Another thing to consider is how much life will it have in it? It's great it's still running, but it probably hadn't been used commercially all those years.

Thats a good point Steve. I got that shredder last year for $100 it was a steal as it was nearly new and the ones on the shelf were over $1,000 so I thought I was getting a steel. It was delivered to the shop, started and ran for 30 minutes. I gave him the money and that's that. After a few weeks I went out back behind the shop to shred some rose trimmings and after ten minutes it died. That was last summer. I am still trying to get it running now.
