Default Going Green?

Has anyone thought about the "going green" approach? Has it worked? I have thought about this a few times. I am not afraid of work and more than anything I love working in the yard and the feeling I get when it is all done. My point is this whole "going green" thing would be work. Switching from a riding gas mower or push gas mower to something like a electric mower, Manual reel mower, the "Mow cycle Man powered riding mower" or even renting out goats/sheep. Thinking outside the box and giving people a different option. What do you all think? (I am not against going green to a certain extent, I do own a prius

Lawn care business tipsLawn Care Business Book
Anything you can do to give yourself an edge or to stand out is a good thing.

Have you heard of Clean Air Lawn Care? They are using the green concept to their advantage. Do some research on them and maybe some of their ideas will be helpful to you.

Here is a picture of their truck setup with electric mowers and a solar panel to charge their mowers.

Maybe you could do one better if you used a prius instead of a pickup?

Lightbulb

I definately believe that a revolution is just beginning in the lawn care industry.

A few years ago "going green" meant a compromise between horsepower vs. emissions. The gap is narrowing and you are no longer restricted to human powered reel mowers to be considered a environmentally conscious lawn care company.

We have discussed propane on these boards before. Though propane has its opponents and its not a perfect fuel source, manufacturers are embracing propane as a viable alernative to gasoline. Equipment is getting better each year. As air quality restrictions continue to tighten, propane powered lawn care equipment will help lawn care companies operate their businesses while conventional equipment operators will feel pressure from a changing market place.
