Question Chainsaw or Hedge trimmers?

Is there any case where a Sharp chained, very high rev chaisaw would work for trimming shrubs?

Any ideas and/or suggestions?

has any one used a chainsaw b4 on hedges, and also used hedge trimmers?

Thanks guys.

and i know, trimming shrub stalks of over an inch or two needs a chainsaw!

Lawn care business tips
I dont know about using a chainsaw to trim shrubs.... But I did have to use my weedeater one time, side of house shrubbery, browned a few leaves, but needed to get them done and my hedge trimmers were stolen the night before. But looked good overall....

I drove out to Home Depot tonight and on the way thru town I seen a home owner trimming with a chainsaw. They didn't look to bad.

My friends company does it all the time. If you are careful they will come out nice.

No chainsaws guys, it's an irrational idea and resolution to trimming hedges.

If you remove bulk brush and need to do some major renovation it works fine but it scars scrapes and notches the other limbs that are not cut.

I have used a small chainsaw with a very small chain ( 16" ) for removing brush and overgrown hedges however it took about 3 years for the shrubs and bushes to return to their full figure.

No chainsaws on your professional jobs ( provided it's not major renovation )

No ford 9n with a 54 inch 3 point mower deck for your professional groomed home lawns..

Having operated chainsaws for over 30 years both as a hobby and profession, I would agree with this comment, IMHO it is not the right tool for the job.

You see, i had a cutomer i was booting palms for some years ago, and she wanted me to trim her hedge along the pool side.. i told her all i had was a chainsaw and she said yes whatever just trim them.. lol

It got them off the fence, but it was what looked like to me as very ugly!

Like i said b4 i ahve never used a hegde trimmer, so i guess i need to buy one!

**> Watkins, you said you trimmed overgrown hedges witha chainsaw and they took 3 years to return to full figuere.

was the proper equipment to be used there a chainsaw or could and should the job had been done with hedge trimmers?

If done with hedge trimmers, would the grow back been sooner?
