Default Hello from Oklahoma City

Started a Lawn Care Business this year and I have 32 residential yards and 2 small commercial contracts. I am looking to go bigger with commercial next year, any ideas and suggestions about when to start bidding on commercial would really help. I am also looking for one of those big green trash cans that everybody has in the back of there trailers, where can i find one, Thanks, from OKC

Lawn care business tips
Welcome to our forum!

You seem to be doing great so far. What kind of marketing have you been doing? Could you scale it up further to reach out to more potential customers?

As far as marketing, I started hanging door hangers in early March. I would like to add more residential yards between now and the end of the year but I am unsure door hangers would work this time of year, any suggestions?

Have you considered asking your current customers for referrals? That usually leads to the best return on your time investment.

Also as far as the commercial customers go, if you want to get into that more, knock on doors and find out who is in charge of the property maintenance and when they accept bids. Keep in touch with these people and you will land more commercial work.

Do you play up your golf interest at all in your marketing or on your website?

I have a referral discount on all of my invoices for my customers but it doesnt get the attention i would like it to. I have also purchased yard signs and put them in several of my yards and around town, have gotten three phone calls in one week after putting them out.

It seems like it is always better to be proactive with finding referrals than it is to be passive.

What I mean by this is, people see something on paper and they don't think twice about it, but if you ask them for a referral, they say oh yea here is someone.

Do you try that often?
