Hello all, new forum member here.
I'm just starting my lawn care business, I have zero accounts.
Business cards are on the way, but for now I've designed some flyers that I'll hand out. I'm still looking for a utility trailer to haul my equipment around.

I bought a residential zero turn from Home Depot (42"), I figure I'll use it for the remainder of this season and some of next season, then I plan on upgrading to an exmark. I'm trying to keep out of pocket expenses down and let the company pay for better equipment.

I'm focused on marketing right now, so I'll be searching the forum for a while.
Thanks for this great forum!

Walked 3.25 miles today leaving flyers...whew!
I figure if I hand out 1000 I should get a few customers.

I contacted someone selling their trailer and was supposed to meet with him last Saturday because he wasn't available during the week. I called him Friday to get directions and he told me his wife sold the trailer. The second guy I contacted lived 3 1/2 hours away I told him I was coming to buy his trailer and told him about the other guy selling the trailer before I got there. He said that he would have it and to call him when I was 30 min from him. After driving 2 1/2 hours he called me and said to turn around because he sold the trailer!
After a few kind words, I hung up on him. I stayed the night at my in-laws and in the morning found a used 6x10 for $700.00. I have learned once again that the things that aren't for you will never be yours!

They say that a mechanic drives a junk car, a barber has a bad hair cut, but the property in this picture isn't mine! If he didn't live 100 miles away I would have asked to cut his yard!

It looks like its time for a Jeff Foxworthy Quote. Sure it was even his trailer? LOL

LOL...yeah he had to show id to the notary. Guy said he used it once and parked it for 5 years! I had to change out the lights that his nephew busted, and sand some rust off of it.

That looks like a nice find! Are you going to be putting some signs on it next?

Thanks Steve!
Signs are coming soon.

Has anyone ever thought of offering advertising space on their trailer to commercial accounts? Just a thought I had the other day.

AS a new business, you want to push YOUR BUSINESS as far as it goes. Offering space to another business of some kind will confuse people. I have a 12ft enclosed trailer, has my decals and decals of where i purchase and take my equipment for repair, oil and blade stickers so people know what i use incase they want to look into it. All of the information on your trailer should be YOURS, no one else s.

I managed a pizza shop for 7 years, the owner would always get calls by other companies "can you clips out stuff to yours for door hanging" -NO WE DONT PIGGY BACK" just for the fact, someone elses information MAY over shadow yours.

Too each their OWN.

Matt
