lol i am on bout my 15th page, and i have about 12-15 hours into my website build, some time was used researching other layouts and websites for design ideas.. but dont think its going to happen over night!

I have a lot to say on the subject as web site development was my vacation on and off from 1999 to 2009. Doing it yourself is fine if you want to toy around and don't really care about results.

Having a poorly designed site is sort of like handing someone a torn and dirty business card. Not a great impression.

I generally take one or two development jobs in the off season (December through February).

No, my buddy who i designed a site for, thought they were cheapest around, i showed him for a business site, HostGator.com beat those prices tremendously!

also, if your a first customer with hostgator, you get an additional 20% off your first payment! so if you do the best deal of 3 years for like 13 bucks a month, when you pay your first payment its 20% off! So its $11.00ish a month!

Thats the cheapest business hosting ive found, and the support is 100% satisfactable, i have only called on the weekends and at night though, and the first man i talked to said thats when there not busy on the weedends and middle of nights, but they are heavily staffed!

So if your like me, building at night, you can call and call and call and have almost no wait time, most of the time. i really did call a lot when i first started, but like always they know there stuff and if they didnt or sounded like werent sure, i just called right back and asked a different person!

I used Select Estates for my site. They setup a content management system and optimized the pages for a very affordable rate. They are also handling my SEO and SEM. It was all completed at the start of this season and my business has grown substantially this year. From their SEO work my site is now on the first page of google results for the keyword Dallas Lawn Service.

I went to GoDaddy.com, bought a ".info" web address for $.89 for the first year (yep, that was 89 cents), and went to www.yola.com...on Yola, they host your site for free, and have free web templates to help you get started...Forward the domain with masking through GoDaddy to your newly created yola website, and you're done...

This whole thing cost me 89 cents...
