Default Made it to the beach!

Well in an excavator that is, first road is done as far as the grade goes, this will allow us to bring tractors down to clean up a 2,000 foot bank of dead trees and thin, once completed we are building a retaining wall along this 2,000 feet, it will take three of our four excavators months to do.

The wood cutting and chipping is coming along, the woods are a mess from downfall and the majority can't be sold for logs or pulp as it's not good enough, I would guess it's beed down 10 to 15 years.

It was a hair raising experience building this road, the clients are very happy with the progress, we had 11 staff on site today to try and get a dent in a few of these projects, it went well.

Will you have to get on them rocks with the excavator? If so that will be very hard on the undercarriage and them things aint cheap.

Yes, I will use those rocks for the retaining wall, the Deere's have 1/4" thick steel skid plates to protect the under carriage, I will be building a road along the beach 6' wide as I go anyhow so it will never be touched.

Do the CAT's not have this? If not that would be a very expensive machine to run around here due to soil conditions, Deere, Kubota and Komatsu have the mini and large excavator market around here, CAT seems to have the loader, bull dozer and backhoe business, I haven't seen a CAT mini yet, I do see some of the large excavators but it's not often.

That looks crazy! The first photo seems like the excavator fell down the hill and landed right side up there! WoW!

What is that big square thing at the shore line?

To be totally honest im not sure what kind of plates you are talking about im not sure how you would protect the rollers and sprockets and such. Trackin over the rocks wouldnt bother the sprockets but it can damage the rollers, idlers, rails and tracks ect. But i also understand sometimes you have no choice.
I run a Jd mini one time, but dont remember the size and i liked it just as well if not better. It was about the same size as the 305. We had to rent one with out a cab and take the rops off to get inside the local mall and fix a sewer main.

We think it is someone's deck that was lost in a storm, we are having a staff party there Friday night, free beer on the client and we are burning this and stumps we dug, he is also cooking free lobster for the crews, should be fun.

It's called St. Margarets's Bay, that is the Atlantic Ocean, staff love working in this area, most of our work is here or within 10 min of this location, very, very wealthy spot, quiet, clients are super to work for, bring the staff food and water, my accounting system emails the client every evening when we are doing jobs like this, cheque is ready every morning and I never even asked for that, very much appreciated. What I found was once you are in and do good work, you are in for the long haul as they tell everyone about you, we were asked by three other people who live in this private community to do work, at the moment we can't but all three said call us when you can.
