Turf dressing

I am trying to find out more about turf dressing. Whats in it? How its usually put down? Whats the purpose of it? Nobody in this area does it, that I know of . I have just heared about it on this forum. Any inputs are appreciated.

We are currently spreading two loads of this stuff a day, that is 38 yards, the buy from an Organic soil supplier by the transport load to keep a supply at home and truck anything 5 yards and under ourselves or we have loads delivered that are betweek 6 and 18 yards, it's 100% certified Organic, stone free, made to be placed over a current lawn that needs to be brought back to life in a hurry, mainly aged compost and sphanuan peat moss, it's not cheap, an average lawn of 2,500 to 3,000 square feet will cost the client $1,400 to $1,700 to turf dress, spray and overseed but they will have a golf course looking lawn in 20 to 30 days.

Thanks guys now i just just need to find a supplier and some clients that need this done. There is alot of lawns around here that get compacted and smothers out the grass. I can see this really helping over a few years of doing this.
