Welcome to our forum! With your experience, what kind of yard signs work best for lawn care businesses and how should they be utilized to maximize the amount of responses they can get?

What kind of material are your signs made of?

We mainly recommend purchasing our 18"x12" with of our pre-designed templates available at www.quickyardsigns.com and placing the largest quantity possible over a certain area, as constantly seeing the same sign over and over will attract the most customers even if it has a smaller size. (this instead of investing in one big banner)

We also have the 24" x 9" (horizontal shape) which is very popular.

How important is it to use yard signs in a customers yard where you actually service it vs having it at a busy intersection?

Do you feel the goal of the sign is to attract a quantity of people driving by or to show off one of your lawns and go for a smaller quantity but a higher quality of customer?

Each type of advertisement attracts a different target market of landscaping customers.

E.g.

Signs that show off a certain beautiful well done job attracts the wealthier customer who is looking for that extra detail that you gave you other customer. Customers know this comes at a premium so it will likely discern customers who are not willing pay a premium or simply wants their grass cut once in a while.

On the other hand this smaller pocket customer may easily call for service and ask for price at a sign that is simply in an intersection, knowing that it will very likely be cheaper than the one in front of the mansion. At the same time a person with the pockets will not be grabbed, they want to see past work before they will commit to anyone.

At the end of the day a combination is best, in front of the very nice jobs to attract the deeper pockets and at intersections to attract everyone else (most business need both to be profitable).

Very interesting! I guess a lawn care business owner should think about which type of customer they want to attract and then tailor their marketing message to attract that type of customer.
