I'm looking for something like this:

Thanks for the link. I'll have to dig in and see if I can get everything put together. I just have no idea how to plumb it.

Lawn care business tips
|
From looking at the photo you posted, it doesn't look like plumbing should be that difficult. As far as using a gasoline engine, it would not be that difficult to modify the muffler to run the exhaust outside, possibly with a muffler attached outside the van body. I have to ask though, why do you want to put it into a van? To me that sounds like a bit of an issue if you were to spill water, fertilizer, etc.
Good luck and let us know what you come up with!
Eli

I could be wrong but I don't think that is a lawn sprayer. A friend of mine is in the pressure washing business and uses a similar setup to send detergent to his washer. Notice their are no pressure gauges or return line on the unit, you just simply turn on the pump and open the valve on the end of the hose when you need solution.
How long do you need the reel to be? As I stated earlier most 12v pumps will only create the pressure needed for about 50 ft of hose. Small gas rigs, say around 3hp can only pressurize 1/2 hose at about 100ft. Not sure of your budget but 5+ hp skid sprayers are can run you several thousand dollars but can accomidate most any location.
As for a fill tank the rig in the picture would be perfect minus the hose reel. If you can find an old tank and electric pumps are under $100 new.

It does seem to be missing the pressure relief and return. Good catch. That's the basic setup I want though.

I worked for a fert and squirt company for 9 years. We used electric pumps with 300' of 1/2" hose all day long. They're spendy but they make electric pumps for this purpose.
I found a used setup with a gas powered pump. No reason I can't use gas until I get the van.

I actually thought of that but I was thinking I'd end up spilling gas in the van and have to smell that all day. That's no fun. Is that driving under the influence (of gas fumes)? LOL

I've never seen a local company that didn't use a van. It seems to be the perfect setup. At my old job we used to have:
A Chevy 3500 van.
200 gallon tank, electric pump, 300' hose.
An Anderson spreader and 20 bags of fertilizer in the back.
A permagreen hitch ramp for either a Centri or a Magnum.
That covered every situation.

It would be sweet to use an electric pump and then have a way to fill the tank from outside.
Cut a hole in the side of the van, get a fuel door from a junk yard and weld it in.
Ohhh that would be so sweet. Then no spillage inside the van

Man, that's a fantastic idea! If I could also get a gas pump nozzle I can set it and forget it. It'll shut off when it's full!

You could put a toilet bowl float in the tank and then have it so once the float raises, it shuts off the incoming water.

Hmm. Then I could adjust it for different levels, too!
