*GASP* The New SCAG! STANDER!
|
|
Just looking around for some inspiration and motivation, and sabes que? I found this!

I have been a Fan of Scag Mowers. but im open to some good advice...
New generations of mower is here, the "stand-ons". First I saw on the streets was a WRIGHT (spell check?)... then the Great Danes was all over the city... I saw a TORO last year, Ariens, Standres...and now the SCAG's. This machines look slick and compact, but I have not really look for more information, or reviews about them.
Im not looking on buying one right now, pero anyone here uses the "stand-ons"?
wat are the pros and cons on having this machines, besides compact? (u can fit 3 stand-ons in a trailer!)
Is there any special maintanance for these kind?
Gracias!

From conversations we have had on here in the past, it seemed members liked the standers.
Can you demo one of them from a local dealer?

No sir, not where I live, only the tiger, and smaller ride-on mowers. I havent even seen one of these in the dealer! lol!
but I guess in a big city like Orlando, FL where there's a bigger dealer might have a demo.

Oh that is fascinating!
Have you ever had an opportunity to try a stander, besides this one? Maybe a friends?
Do any competitors that are your size utilize them in your area or are the companies that use them bigger or smaller?

I love this Wright Stander, will never purchase another zero turn tractor again, unless i land some major acres, but then i will buy a real tractor, not a lawn mower.
The standers have great viewing all around the mower, quick response, easier to work/maintain, awsome on slopes.
Can be a little light on the rear tires when turning, takes a little getting used to like any new mower.

We run 52"Wright and Great Dane Standers for most of our accounts.
There are many advantages to these machines starting with their smaller footprint. (more room on trailer).
They are great on slopes and tight areas. (less trimming)
You can mow small lot to large lots with these machines as they will go 9mi/hour.

How do you feel the fatigue factor compares or differs when using a standers vs. a (ztr/tractor)?
Do you find you can't mow as many lawns as a ride on mower because it's more fatiguing to use?

I like standing on the spring loaded platform. Your legs act like shock absorbers
instead of your lower back which can take a pounding in the seated position all day.
Don't get me wrong I do love my 62" Z which we use on the more open larger
acreage accounts.
It's nice to have equipment that you can use for every application.
Walk behinds are the most fatiguing and we rarely use them.

They run in between the cost of a Z and a walk behind.
