Default Interesting article about moving forward

I found this article and I thought it was interesting when you consider that they went from a very low point in their lives to a point in their lives they never dreamed they could be. Talk about a dream come true, I doubt either of these guys had dreamed that big initially. But it can happen.

From Dungeon to Ivory Tower.

Enjoy!

Lawn care business tips
Interesting article, what I get from this is two things first never give up and perhaps more important is that every one deserves a second and perhaps third chance, I have yet to find anyone that can say they are perfect.

This is a good inspiration for anyone who is having a struggle.

Had a young fellow come to work with us late in the summer, he was a graduate of Massage therapy but could not find a job, anyhow he was hired and two days later dismissed by one of the crew supervisors. He lives with his mom, she gave me a call and we had a meeting, turns out he has a learning disability, I hired him back and put him with my crew, today he can operate just about any piece of machinery I have, frustrating at times would be an understatement but I made it a personal project to spend time teaching him and he is one of the most loyal employees I have and what I mean by that is he is never late, never complains, gets the job done although at first you had to show him a few times but he is great and he plans to work for me year around as he loves the kind of work we do and the fact he lost 18 pounds!

Very good point. I agree many people deserve a 2nd and 3rd chance.

Every once in a great while there are those who can't keep themselves clean. Check 'it out:

1.

2.

Or this one....

3.

I think this last one is the one I was looking for when I stumbled across the first one. I had seen that one before and it just amazes me.

Here are a few more links for # 3.

A.
B.
C. (This was # 1332 on 08-31-09. He was arrested again on 12-17-09 and as close as I can piece together, he has been arrested a total of 1343 times in his 55 years.....)

Ok, so this got kind of carried away, but it became an interesting search for me once I got started.

But Andy, you are correct, most people deserve a 2nd, 3rd, etc chance. As far as the guy you hired back, he is probably more appreciative for his job than most people are since no one else would have given him the chance that you did.

Interesting article.

It seems all to often, life just moves by so fast. If you can't connect immediately on something, you move on to the next person to see if you can connect with them.

This seems to apply to everything. A new employee, a contractor, a customer. It seems we all need to play whatever role it is we want to play and then come to the table with it. If a connection isn't made, we are out the door.

It's like Andy's employee. Maybe at first glance, he wasn't able to connect. But taking a moment to find out why there is a problem with the connection can be very helpful for all involved.

How about with customers we find to be problems? Customers we are not connecting with. Do we ask them why? What is the matter? How can we make a better connection and have a better understanding?

All too often it seems we don't. It seems everything is so fast paced, you are either in or your out.
