Default I am on Google Maps!!!

I decided to look into, and find out how to get on Google maps! Here I am!

I found out that you can list a coupon on google as well! So I made a coupon and we will see if I get any of these in!

I am working on several other listings as well. Does anyone have any suggestions on where else to list myself?

That is awesome but I didn't see any coupon links. Is it still up there? Did I miss it?

Default Your store

I just checked out your website and your store. I made a test purchase to check out your shopping cart. If you sell to South Carolina you must charge and pay sales tax.

This might help you.

Internet Sales tax required for:
Alabama 7%
California 7.75%
Colorado 8.31%
Connecticut 6%
Florida 6.5%
Georgia 6%
Indiana 6%
Maryland 6%
Missouri 8.6%
Mississippi 7%
North Carolina 7.25%
Nevada 7.75%
Ohio 7%
Pennsylvania 7%
South Carolina 7%
Tennessee 9.5%

The Shopping Cart I am using on my new website Lets me program these taxes in setup. Your's probably does too.

Click on the map, and then it says "one coupon". If you click on it, it will take you to the coupon.

That's interesting. Where do I find that info online?

Also, what shopping cart are you using? Recently I saw a list of free shopping carts and now I can't remember where I saw it.

I am going to use PayPal Shoping Cart. It's free. While setting up the cart, there was a section for sales tax calculations. I Googled "Internet Sales Tax" and got the list I just sent.

With the shopping cart you can have a dropdown list for different sizes and prices such as Quart, Half Gallon or Gallon.

Ok. Now that you mention it, I remember setting up the sales tax for Missouri in my Paypal account.

But as far as charging tax for other states, all the info I am seeing online all states that you only charge tax if you have a physical presence in the state where you are selling. Example: if I had a warehouse in Indiana and sold products in Indiana, then I would have to charge sales tax for products sold to any residents of Indiana.

Here are the links I found:

http://www.newrules.org/retail/rules...s-tax-fairness
http://smallbusiness.findlaw.com/bus...net-taxes.html
http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-10220649-38.html
http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/r-art...t_who_doesnt-i

I may be missing something, but this seems to indicate that I would not have to charge. Tell me if I am missing something.

Eli

Default I stand corrected

I guess I am the one that was missing something. I didn't research it far enough.

I do however feel that sales tax or more correctly spending tax is the most fair form of taxation. Those who spend more pay more. No loopholes, no IRS, no lobyists, no tax cheats. Everyone pays acording to what they purchas, not what they earn.

Criminals such as drug dealers would pay taxes that they currently are not.

Government would know monthly when spending taxes are paid just how much they have to waste! They would be on a forced budget of sorts!

I agree, that it should be on what we spend rather than what we earn. And I thought you were going to say the phrase..... Fair tax! lol (Which I agree with btw.

Some of the articles indicated that it is sort of the individual's duty to make sure they have paid tax on the product. All I have to say to that is "phooey!" We all know that very few people will ever do that!

Default Sales tax and online shipping

I am in California and use Paypal and though the Federal Government is trying hard to figure out a way to tax products that cross state lines, so far, no. Think of how complicated it would be as each state has a different rate. I often purchase equipment out of state to save on the sales tax.
