Default Equipment and job site

Some of the guys on the John deere forum wanted pictures of some of my gear and expecially an X749 tractor I bought last week, all wheel steer, will go around a telephone pole mowing, four wheel drive, 3 cylinder diesel, it's a friggin dream machine, personally I would take it over a ZTR in a heart beat. I bought this mainly for two contracts that have very steep hills to mow, I can tell you so far it will go anywhere.

As for the job, I have a lot of gear at this site, it's a twenty grand contract and will take weeks, we are grubbing the crap off the rocks, leaving some stands of trees, a professional landscape designer came in and did the plan, we are just following instructions.

I need staff so bad it's not funnt and even at the rates I pay, I just can't get people that will work and I think I am a very easy person to work for, my University guys work for me on the weekends which gives me 14, I have 4 full time that are doing ok, not great but....

Anyhow I am off to work, we have 5 jobs on the go today,,,

It is amazing how no matter what we all do in life there always seems to be a limiting factor. Sometimes it's money, man power, imagination, education etc.

What do you think causes others to not want to jump on the job positions you make available?

Is this something that is geographic? Or are there other issues?

I think you answered the question, Money, man power, confidence and marketing ability.

I am not bragging at all so please don't take it that way, in three days we picked up fifty grand in excavation work on this street because of peope walking or driving buy, I am going to Deere tomorrow to buy more equipment, I mean why not the work id there although it is getting late in the season.

3 Ton truck with dump, flatbed trailer and a bigger excavator with a thumb, it's an attachment for the bucket for building retaining walls, they are so expensive I haven't bought one yet.
