The lord works in mysterious ways

Been in the hospital for the last 5 days. At 60, I had a ruptured appendix. I thought I was just constipated! But "The Boss" thought otherwise (a nurse for 25 years). Mother Hen went to bed so I can live normally again. I entitled this "The lord works in mysterious ways", even though I am not particularly religious, because of the results. At a time when my business was in the toilet because of the economy, I picked up 6 jobs for next year. The doc who treated me was dissatisfied with his lawn care company and questioned me. He had Centipede grass that was in very poor shape. I had him go to my blog posts http://swstout.com/wordpress/?p=128osts and http://swstout.com/wordpress/?p=220. The next day he signed me up to take care of his lawn and his office complex. Before I left the hospital today, I had 7 other contracts for next season. Temporarily stopping me from working, got me business! Steve

Regardless of what, or who you believe in, thats a good deal. Have a quick recovery. I would say it sucks to be in hospital, but sounds like you made money while in there, so, ........glad you where there, haha. Have you ever thought maybe its just you and your business knowledge that got you that work, and not " devine intervention", or "gods will"?

Maybe it's my age, Maybe now living in the Bible Belt, maybe it's wishful thinking, but it has deffinitly got me thinking!

Whatever way you can make good things happen, is great.

Be it your good fortune, knowledge, or belief in a higher power, if you are happy, than so be it.

It is always uplifting to me to hear of peoples positive stories ( even though sometimes its like when is that going to happen to me ), it gives me confidence that i can do that to.

Wat to go, you didn't need that stupid apendix anyway.

The "Boss" woke up to check on me! I either sign off or she takes my hard drive. She just gave me 2 Tynol 3's. Glad she goes to work at 7.

Steve, first off I am very happy that you are ok, don't know you, never spoke other than here but you are one of the good guys and I consider you a friend, I really enjoy your posts and I think you are an outstanding person, I really do hope our path's cross someday, would love to chat with you for an afternoon over a cold one!!!

I am not goingto preach as I am not a religious fellow, I do believe in a higher power if you will and I did grow up in a pretty strong Baptist family, good fortune follows people and perhaps some comes from your higher power, your personality and your skills....who knows, what I do know I am very happy you picked up this business and you will do an awsome job and you will continue to grow.

I looked at your blog. Do you have akismet running in the plugins? It'll take care of most of those spam comments and smutty links. Another good plugin to add is http:BL. It blocks known spammers from even seeing the site.

I just got akismet running (didn't have a key code and went to WP help).

Is http:BL a plugin or a tag? I added it as a tag because I couldn't find it in the plugin directory.

You can download the plugin at the link in my post above. They just drop it in your plugins directory and set it up. I think you'll have to get a key from projecthoneypot.org to make it work but I don't remember.

Akismet and http:BL drastically reduced my blog's spam count. Pert-near zero, I'd say. One or two will get through but I have mine set to only allow comments that I approve.
